On March 11, 2021, the American Rescue Plan Act was signed into law, creating a new Community Navigator pilot program. The Community Navigator program aims to strengthen outreach to underserved small businesses by partnering with community organizations.
The SBA released guidance for community organizations to successfully adopt the program. SBA district offices, state and local government partners, Small Business Development Centers (SBDCs), Women’s Business Centers (WBCs), SCORE, Veterans Business Outreach Centers (VBOCs), and other resource partners may review the Information Notice here.
Competitive grants awards range from $1 million to $5 million for a two-year performance period. Applications closed July 23, 2021. Performance periods are projected to commence September 2021.
